In our daily lives, aluminum products have been increasingly integrated into our lives, ranging from lipstick casings to automotive accessories. These large and small aluminum products need to undergo surface treatment before they can enter normal use. There are various methods of surface treatment for aluminum products, and most companies require a bright effect, so polishing is the best choice.
Below, we will briefly introduce the commonly used polishing treatments for aluminum products.
The commonly used polishing method for aluminum products - mechanical polishing
The principle of mechanical polishing:
After adding polishing solid compound to the polishing buff wheel, polish the surface of aluminum parts on a high-speed rotating polishing machine. The high-speed rotating polishing buff wheel generates high temperature due to friction with the workpiece, causing plastic deformation on the metal surface, thereby smoothing out the convex and concave points on the metal surface. At the same time, the extremely thin oxide film on the metal surface generated instantly under atmospheric oxidation is repeatedly ground down, making it increasingly bright.
Why do we need polishing?
In the processing of aluminum products, anodizing is usually used as the last step to protect the aluminum parts. Because aluminum alloys are generally prone to oxidation, although the oxide layer has a certain passivation effect, long-term exposure can cause the oxide layer to peel off and lose its protective effect. Therefore, anodizing treatment utilizes its easy oxidation characteristics to control the formation of the oxide layer through chemical methods, in order to prevent further oxidation of aluminum and increase its surface mechanical properties.
But before anodizing, it is necessary to determine whether the workpiece has defects. If there are scratches, anodizing treatment should still be carried out, and the marks cannot be covered and may even become more prominent. The main function of polishing is to remove surface defects such as burrs, scratches, corrosion spots, sand holes, and pores from the workpiece surface. At the same time, further remove minor unevenness on the surface of the workpiece to give it a higher gloss.
Examples of polishing applications for aluminum products
Our company uses century old brand technology in surface treatment technologies such as polishing, and we provide customers with various surface treatment solutions and high-performance materials for a long time. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us. Below is an introduction to our company's polishing solutions for two common aluminum products, aluminum lipstick shells and aluminum pots.
The polishing materials required in the polishing process can be directly used from our company's products.
Aluminum lipstick shell polishing:
The polishing process of the aluminum lipstick shell includes rough polishing and fine polishing.
The rough polishing process can be carried out using our specially processed polishing hemp wheels combined with our specially designed cutting force polishing yellow wax, and then polished with a mouth shaped polishing machine. After rough polishing, the stretching lines generated during aluminum processing can be removed, improving surface smoothness and glossiness.
The fine polishing process can use efficient black BK chemically treated oblique cutting cloth wheels combined with polished yellow wax for fine polishing and polishing, which can remove the hemp wheel patterns generated during rough polishing, forming a flat and bright surface.
Aluminum Pot Polishing:
The polishing process of aluminum pots includes rough polishing, intermediate polishing, and fine polishing.
Rough polishing: We can use our company's specially treated large wave hemp cotton cloth wheel with yellow polishing wax for rough polishing, which can remove residual marks on the surface of aluminum processing and improve the glossiness and flatness of the surface.

Middle polishing: The middle polishing adopts a slanted cutting cotton cloth wheel combined with our company's characteristic sizing cloth and yellow polishing wax for polishing, to remove the hemp wheel pattern generated during rough polishing and further improve the surface glossiness and smoothness.

Fine polishing: Fine polishing is carried out using oblique cutting cotton cloth wheels and white polishing wax. After fine polishing, the surface of the aluminum pot becomes very smooth and has a good glossiness.
